Overall physical health encourages the balance of physical activity, nutrition and mental well-being to keep your body in top condition. Obtaining an optimal level of physical wellness allows you to nurture personal responsibility for your own health. As you become conscious of your physical health, you are able to identify elements you are successful in, as well as elements you would like to improve.
A clear distinction is often made between 'mind' and 'body'. But when considering physical and mental wellness, the two should not be thought of as separate, but thought of as looking at the same holistic condition through different disiplines. Poor physical health can lead to an increased risk of developing mental health problems. Similarly, poor mental health can negatively impact physical health, leading to an increased risk of some conditions.
