MANAGEMENT PRACTICE in your Pathology Prevention plans.
Nutritional science is a factor in many of the practices used by the Health Guardian for pathology prevention. The Health Guardian should leverage current nutritional understandings during identification of nutrient requirements and the practical application of this knowledge, to the concepts that relate nutrition to the prevention of infectious, chronic and degenerative diseases and to optimization of health.
Food should be considered a medicine, and consumed for a specific indication, not for a social crutch or to pacify destructive habits. The role of nutrition in reducing inflammation, (a contributor to the state of chronic disease), supports the awareness of diet in disease prevention and management.
Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) includes the assessment, nutrition diagnosis, interventions, monitoring, and evaluation of established disease. In many cases, medical nutrition therapy is a powerful preventive measure as well as a cure.
