   A holistic systems approach to health care requires that the Health Guardian has an understanding of each of the organ systems. The nervous system is the major controlling, regulatory, and communicating system in the body. It is the center of all mental activity including thought, learning, and memory. The nervous system controls; Sight, hearing, taste, smell, and feeling (sensation), Voluntary and involuntary functions, such as movement, balance, and coordination, it also regulates the actions of most other body systems, such as blood flow and blood pressure. The nervous system gives us the ability to think and reason, and allows us to be conscious, have thoughts, memories, and language.

   Pathology prevention with the nervous system can help prevent both physiological and psychological health issues. In no other system in the body is the connection between the physical and psychological aspects of our being as apparent as in the nervous system. If there is a disease on the psychological level, it will be reflected on the psychological level, and vice versa. The Health Guardian can follow these prevention guidelines to keep the nervous system safe and healthy: Exercise regularly, Do not smoke or use other tobacco products, Get plenty of rest, Take care of health conditions that may cause decreased nervous system functioning, such as: Diabetes & High blood pressure, Eat a balanced diet, Drink plenty of water, Do not use alcohol, Hearing or vision tested, Concentrate on one thing at a time, Increase attention span, Develop a positive attitude, Protect yourself from head injuries, and Prevent falls in the home.
