How to include a MENTAL HEALTH PRACTICE in your Pathology Prevention plans.
Over the course of your life, when you experience mental health issues, your thinking, mood, and behavior could be affected. Mental health refers to our cognitive, behavioral, and emotional wellbeing - it's all about how we think, feel, and behave. The term 'mental wellness' is sometimes used to mean an absence of a mental disorder.
Our Mental Wellness is slightly different. The absence of a mental disorder is not enough. We must maximize our mental health status continuously to prevent physical pathologies. We do this by examining our mental wellness status through 9 different psychological lenses or theories. Through each lens, we increase our understanding of ourselves, and can perceive different potential weaknesses before they become physical issues. Each lens is based on a psychological model that has been demonstrated to be relevant in the healthy functioning of our organ systems, either directly or indirectly.
