Consumer surveys have found the American public to be open to a greater role for Health Guardians in the primary care setting. Policies and laws, primarily at the state level, are being redefined to reallocate the roles and responsibilities for non-physician licensed providers to optimize new models of health care. Depending on the nature of the health condition, the Health Guardian’s patients may then be referred for primary, secondary or tertiary care.
