THE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM NORMALIZER®

The Digestive System Normalizer® helps the body achieve a healthy state that is maintained by the constant adjustment of biochemical and physiological pathways supporting both the interrelationships and interdependencies between organ functions. The Digestive System Normalizer® promotes cellular binding, cleansing, catalyzing and functional repair of the digestive organs, tissues, and cells within a holistic protocol of pathology prevention effort. This is one of the PathologyPrevention’s SYSTEM infusions, so it has a light-green background label. The specialized ORGAN infusions have a light-blue background on the label to help differentiate the two.

A single package of the Digestive System Normalizer® contains 33 teabags. These 33 teabags are vacuum sealed for your protection and the preservation of their herbal medical properties. This bag is resealable after opening and should keep the teabags fresh for 4 to 6 months after opening. Teabags are made with fine paper fibers that allow tea to brew quickly while keeping sediment and smaller tea leaves of the finer grade teas from escaping into the brew. Made in Germany from all-natural, unbleached paper with no chemicals or artificial ingredients to taint the flavor of the tea. Environmentally sensitive, completely biodegradable and fully compostable.

PROTOCOL: We recommend including the Digestive System Normalizer® as part of a broader (holistic) battery of infusions supporting all 11 of the body’s organ systems, one different system infusion each day, over a 11-day time period, then repeat. In this protocol, all 11 organ systems are incrementally maintained every 11 days. The infusions are designed to overlap, and synergistically support all of the organ system functions.

During times when a particular organ system needs more attention than general maintenance, additional specialized infusions for organ support such as the liver, or bowels can be added throughout the day. You can also consider other infusions outside of the digestive system product suite as well, such as the kidney and bladder infusions of the urinary system depending on your current condition. Just remember not to exceed the four-bag limit per day.

DOSAGE: Each teabag is approximately 1 to 1.5 teaspoons of premeasured pharmaceutical grade herbs. Dried fruits and spices are added for flavoring. The teabag should be placed in 8 oz. of hot water, (about 180° F) and care should be taken to use water cooler than (220° F). Let this herbal infusion sit in water for at least 20 minutes, and preferably 45 minutes or longer. However, keep covered while steeping, and don’t let it sit for longer than 4 hours. If the infusion is too strong for your taste, feel free to dilute with additional warm or cool water, but drink all the liquid produced by the single teabag.

FLAVOR: This infusion has a slight spicy aroma accessed from perhaps a kitchen spice cabinet, while drinking the infusion builds a stronger and stronger spicy taste in the back of the mouth, while leaving a dry aftertaste that remains for some time. Depending on your mood, emotions, and what you recently have eaten, you may experience something different each time you drink this infusion.

PLEASE BE SURE TO REVIEW 'SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS' TAB ABOVE

Remember this isn't your grandma's afternoon tea. It is a medicine, you don’t drink it because of the taste. The reason people don't see the results they want, is due to a lack of consistency. These are pharmaceutical grade infusions designed to make the highest impact on your health as safely as possible at a holistic level. The biochemical reactions, physical repair, and physiological capabilities take time to build. Give it the time needed, you'll be amazed at the results. Your health is being attacked from every front, more viciously than in other period in the history of mankind, you can have peace of mind. Enjoy that peace!

THE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM NORMALIZER® INDICATIONS

The fundamental physical nature of herbal infusions is chemical, as is the fundamental physical nature of the human body. In the information that follows, it’s tempting to think about “active ingredients.” However, the effects of a plant can rarely be attributed to a single constituent. More often, effects are due to various ways in which a whole plant complex interacts with the human body. In pathology prevention the healthcare provider is led to conclude, “the whole is more than the sum of the parts.” Often actions are synchronized in a symbiotic relationship and work together in a way that will benefit the body as a whole system.

The herbal remedies of the world vary in strength from potentially lethal poisons to gentle tonics that might be considered foods. This variation in the potency of pharmacological impact is chemically based and has a profound effect on the therapeutic selection of herbs for any individual. At PathologyPrevention we focus on the use of mild normalizers and gentle effectors and use strong effectors only if absolutely necessary. Normally our infusions require 3 to 6 months of daily use before the desired effect can be observed. This assures the confidence and safety required in pathology prevention efforts. In fact, potent effectors are hardly used at all in our infusions. They are, however, the foundation of the pharmacological medicine of others.

The activity of most infusions is more complex than a mere representation of the effects of an “active ingredient.” None the less, a review of active constituents can be illuminating and provide general expectations for the personal or family Health Guardian practicing pathology prevention.

This herbal infusion uses a blend of pharmaceutical grade herbs optimized to provide the Digestive System with the prominent medical actions indicated below at varying strengths and capabilities.

THE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM NORMALIZER® SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS

Many of these safety considerations may seem to be in contradiction with each other. That’s because they are. Our infusions are designed to address many safety considerations with other pharmaceutical herbs (e.g. both raising and lowering blood sugar levels at the same time). The infusion is made further safe by managing the herbal quantities provided at any one time. Please follow our recommended dosage below and be confident and secure in your pathology prevention efforts.

Ingredients of this infusion consumed in quantities of three teaspoons (3 teabags) per day over a three to six-month period are GENERALLY CONSIDERED SAFE by the FDA under the G.R.A.S. provision. However, you might consider the following:

General Considerations This infusion may temporarily worsen symptoms because of the detoxifying action. When consumed by mouth in normal quantities this infusion does not cause serious side effects. But some people can experience stomach upset, nausea, dizziness, or diarrhea. Do not continue consuming this infusion if you experience any of these symptoms.

When consumed in extreme amounts (over ten teabags per day) for more than 4 weeks or in smaller amounts long-term, this infusion can cause side effects including high blood pressure, low potassium levels, weakness, and paralysis, in otherwise healthy people. Overuse and abuse of this infusion could make kidney disease worse. The infusion can lower a man's interest in sex and also worsen erectile dysfunction (ED) by lowering levels of a hormone called testosterone.

So don't consume more than 10 bags of this infusion per day - ever!

Infants and Children Not for the use by anyone under twelve years old. This infusion has not been tested for the consumption by children or infants and is considered UNSAFE. If accidentally ingested contact medical authorities immediately.

Allergic Reactions This infusion may cause an allergic reaction in people who are sensitive to the Asteraceae plant families. Members of these families include ragweed, chrysanthemums, marigolds, daisies, and many others. If you have allergies, be sure to test with a small quantity rubbed externally, followed by diluted infusions. Only after tests prove to be safe consume normally. Check with your healthcare provider with any concerns. This infusion contains significant amounts of salicylic acid. Salicylic acid is similar to aspirin. Avoid drinking large quantities if you are allergic to aspirin.

Infertility While consuming, this infusion might lower testosterone levels and decrease sperm movement. This might reduce fertility. Our infusion should be used cautiously by people trying to have a baby, and avoid consuming 3 hours before sex.

Pregnancy and Breast-feeding There is not enough reliable information about the safety of consuming this infusion if you are pregnant or breast feeding. It is LIKELY UNSAFE. There is a concern that it might cause early delivery or miscarriage. It might promote a menstrual period or stimulate the uterus, putting the pregnancy at risk.

Bleeding Disorders This infusion might slow blood clotting. This might increase the risk of bruising and bleeding in people with bleeding disorders.

Diabetes Some evidence suggests that consuming this infusion might lower blood sugar levels. This might lower blood sugar levels too much in people with diabetes who are already taking medications to lower blood sugar. Watch for signs of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) and monitor your blood sugar carefully if you have diabetes and are consuming this infusion. Dosing adjustments to diabetes medications might be necessary.

Heart Disease This infusion can cause the body to store water, and this can make congestive heart failure worse. It can also increase the risk of irregular heartbeat. Don't consume this infusion if you have heart disease.

Kidney Disease This infusion seems to increase urine flow. If you have kidney problems, the infusion may increase stress on the kidneys, sooner than strengthening the digestive system. You should discuss with your healthcare provider before starting a treatment protocol.

Thyroid Disease This infusion may interfere with the action of thyroid hormones. Don't consume this infusion without considering the concern that it may change thyroid function, reduce thyroid hormone levels, and interfere with thyroid hormone-replacement therapy. This infusion might act like estrogen in the body. However, other research shows that it reduces the effects of estrogen in some hormone-sensitive cancer cells. Therefore, this infusion might have beneficial effects on hormone-sensitive conditions. Until more is known, use cautiously if you have a condition that might be made worse by exposure to estrogen ‘like’ hormones.

Blood Pressure This infusion can theoretically both raise and lower your blood pressure. increase the risk of blood pressure dropping too low in people prone to low blood pressure and too high in people prone to high blood pressure. Don't consume large amounts of the infusion without monitoring your blood pressure.

Surgery This infusion might increase the risk of bleeding during and after surgery. It may also cause too much drowsiness if combined with medications used during and after surgery. Stop consuming it at least 2 weeks before a scheduled surgery.

POTENTIAL INTERACTIONS

No side effects or drug interactions have been reported concerning this infusion. However, you might consider the following:

Photosensitivity - reactions resulting from external contact with some of its ingredients have been reported. This has been attributed to their content of furanocoumarins, which are known photosensitizing agents.

Alcohol Interaction - Be cautious with this combination. Talk with your healthcare provider. Alcohol can cause sleepiness and drowsiness. Our infusion may also cause sleepiness and drowsiness. Consuming large amounts of the infusion along with alcohol might cause too much sleepiness.

Warfarin (Coumadin) – Warfarin is sometimes used to slow blood clotting. This infusion might increase how long warfarin (Coumadin) is in the body and increase the chances of bruising and bleeding. Be sure to have your blood checked regularly. The dose of your warfarin (Coumadin) might need to be changed.

Tobacco Interactions - People who chew tobacco flavored with licorice while drinking this infusion might develop high blood pressure and other side effects.

Potassium Levels – This infusion could theoretically lower potassium levels in your blood. A muscle condition caused by nerve problems (hypertonia) can be worsened by our infusion. Avoid this infusion if you have hypertonia.

Absorption Rates – This infusion may delay absorption of other drugs taken at the same time.

Aspirin Sensitivity - This infusion should be avoided by people with salicylate (aspirin) sensitivity. It contains chemicals similar to aspirin. Taking salsalate with the infusion might cause there to be too much salicylates in the body. This might increase the effects and side effects of salicylates. Consuming it along with aspirin could theoretically increase the effects and side effects of the aspirin.

Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet drugs - This infusion might slow blood clotting. Taking Ginger root along with medications that also slow clotting might increase the chances of bruising and bleeding.

Narcotic Drugs - Medications for pain (Narcotic drugs) may interact with this infusion. The body breaks down some medications for pain to get rid of them. This infusion might decrease how fast the body gets rid of some medications for pain. By decreasing how fast the body gets rid of some medications for pain, it might increase the effects and side effects of some medications for pain. Some medications for pain include meperidine (Demerol), hydrocodone, morphine, OxyContin, and many others.

Liver Processing – By design, some medications are changed and broken down by the liver. This infusion might affect how quickly the liver breaks down these medications. Consuming this infusion along with some medications that are broken down by the liver can increase the effects and side effects of some medications.

Iron Deficiency - Taking high amounts of this infusion might prevent some absorption of iron. It should be used with caution in people with existing iron deficiency.

Protein S Deficiency - People with protein S deficiency have an increased risk of forming blood clots. There is some concern that this infusion might increase the risk of clot formation in these people because it may act like estrogen. If you have protein S deficiency, it is best to avoid using this infusion until more is known.

Atrophic Gastritis - This infusion might increase how much vitamin B12 the body absorbs by people with inflammation of the stomach lining (Atrophic gastritis).

Hypochlorhydria – This infusion might increase how much vitamin B12 the body absorbs by people with low levels of stomach acid, (hypochlorhydria).

Kidney Stones – This infusion contains a small amount of a chemical called oxalate. Since kidney stones are made primarily from oxalate combined with calcium, healthcare providers worry that this might increase the risk of kidney stones. .

CAUTION: Be sure to follow relevant directions on product labels, indications, and safety consideration product tabs. Consult your pharmacist, herbalist, or other healthcare professional with any concerns.

This digestive infusion is mild and pleasant tasting. For about two weeks I drank a cup of digestive normalizer a day (missing only once or twice for a 24 hr fast and forgetting) to see if tummy discomfort due to stress would be eased. I feel like it did help in my case. It may have been due to the infusion only, but may have been helped by the mindfulness of sipping the herbals, too. Either way, I recommend this product to any wishing to have a healthy digestive system.

Thank you Amy P for your review. You bring up a couple of good points. Behavior change and habit formation is always difficult, and yet is needed for pathology prevention efforts to produce lasting benefits. You didn't give up with your first failure, but just kept trying. Good job!

Also, you illustrate a good point about the interrelated nature of the digestive system and our nervous system. We really should be strengthening all our organ systems by rotating to a different system infusion each day.
